Events Committee
The Events Committee of For the Family Foundation brings our mission to life by creating meaningful opportunities for education, connection, awareness, and community. From large national conferences to family focused events and new service launches, the committee manages the planning, coordination, partnerships, programming, and countless details required to turn an idea into an experience that makes a difference. The committee is currently preparing for the Understanding Estrangement National Summit for Families and Professionals at Emory University, March 1 and 2, bringing together families, mental health professionals, researchers, educators, and leaders for two days of education and conversation about family estrangement, family systems, clinical practice, and pathways toward healing and repair. Looking ahead, the committee is also developing special Mother’s Day and Father’s Day events for May and June 2027, recognizing that these significant family days can carry complicated emotions for families experiencing estrangement. Most recently, the committee helped bring 844 DOOR HOME from concept to completion, creating a resource designed to provide support and direction for parents, adult children, grandparents, siblings, spouses, extended family members, and professionals affected by family estrangement. The Events Committee does more than plan events. It creates places where people can learn, connect, ask difficult questions, find resources, and discover that they are not navigating family estrangement alone. Each project is designed to move the Foundation’s work beyond conversation and into meaningful education, support, and action.
